Longtime Male High School principal Jim Jury will retire next month.
The school's site-based decision-making council will kick off the search for his replacement in a pair of meetings on Nov. 18 and 19, according to an agenda shared with reporters.
Following months of turmoil and a fired principal in 2014, Jury was tapped to run the school on an interim basis while staying in his position as principal at Ballard High School. He moved permanently into the role in 2015.

He's been a principal in Jefferson County for 20 years, starting at Waggener High School before moving to Ballard in 2003.
As allowed under a 2019 law, Superintendent Marty Pollio will have the final say over Jury's replacement.
